Upon joining Bodysense Pilates I have felt very welcome and I feel very much at home with the instructors Gen and Tory and other students like myself. Gen was particularly understanding and caring after not long joining and finding I had to have radiotherapy on my face. Gen ensured I could continue with my pilates at a pace that suited my situation at that time. Being quite new to the studio it was nice to feel cared for and comfortable to continue with my exercise.
Two years on from that situation and another health issue requiring surgeries and treatment Gen and the Bodysense studio team enabled me to return to pilates (which I had missed terribly) through private classes initially. These classes were at a pace that suited my situation and fitness level and worked on rebuilding the strength and toning needed. The positive support was valued and when I did get to join in with classes again the kindness from others was exceptional. I am now feeling much stronger and ready to get back to the level of pilates (advanced classes) I was previously at.
What’s different from my previous pilates:
- The thoroughness to ensure that you are doing the exercises correctly even with larger class numbers if you are not doing something right it is picked up quickly.
- Apart from the warm up and warm down exercises the actual class session exercises are extremely varied and this never ceases to amaze me, the depth of knowledge regarding the types of exercises we are able to do. I am regularly surprised when we near the end of a class session, it goes that quickly due to the variation and the pace set by the instructors – I really like the fast pace.
- I also really like the variety of equipment used. Whether on the Wunda chair, reformer, Cadillac, or mat there is great variation in the exercises that we can do on the equipment including the use of other supporting equipment (the types available and used is immense).
